BB comes to SoCal!!!!!

Big Bill says these grapes rock!

I can't believe I was a beer guy all those years, grapes are so much better...

The close up...

The Filets...

The potatoes...

The final presentation...

BUSTED!!!!!!

The "Arteeest"..

Best friends...

****Final Thought****

The Blackstone Syrah is a fine wine usually in the 10-15 buck range, but with deflation setting in and the economy turning down I got this bottle on sale for $7 at my local market...

The deep flavor of Syrah combined with the blood rare Filets brings many pleasures to the palette and psyche...
Please go out and get a bottle and indulge...

Red's Wine Review: A Tribute to the Obama inaugural!

Missing White Castle!
Recently I surfed through John's blogg onto the Heff blogg, as anyone who has visited Muggs' blogg knows the Heff is quite a character. But the other day he put up a post of his home made White Castle burgers... So, I just had to copy him...
But with a Kaleeforniaahhh twist!!!

The ingredients: notice the beef is 73% 27%... Definitely remember to take the Lipitor prior to this indulgence...

The CA twist, Beringer's SHIRAZ and KING's Hawiian savory butter rolls.
The Shiraz is actually a first for me, I have never tasted it before...

The Latka's oy vey! Or are they Knish's??
The steamed buns...
The Meat...
Final presentation with condiments and vino...
The happy mic!
After thought:
The Shiraz went quite well with the burgers, really it did!
The Shiraz is a very good wine, not too sweet, a little dry and very Cabernet-ish...
The latka's were pretty good too, especially when dipped into the ketchup/tabasco...
The burgers actually smelled and tasted just like the White Castle burgers I remember, greasy buns and all!
This meal was a wonderful treat after such a marvelous California day, you know bike riding on the beach, going to the park with Matt and soaking up that sunny and 75 degree warmth...
We hope all of you back east are enjoying similar warm days and nights...
PS: Be sure to check out the Greek and Mc bloggs for more great Matt shots!!!!

Wine Review, Coastal Estates Merlot

If you haven't tried this Merlot yet go out & get some!!
We enjoyed it with our dinner on Saturday evening
and found it to "not bad" as my mom put it.
It was a nice tasting wine.
So far it's been 2 thumbs up for Red's picks.
(from the Wapp Fls crew anyway)
Looking forward to # 3!!

Red's Wine Review #1

We go to the wine cellar and make a wise selection...

The "Smoking Loon" a fine 89 point California Cabernet for under 10 bucks...
A closer look.. for those who are actually going to go out and retrieve a sample for further inspection...
The "Meat" 2, 8 ounce filets... Inch and a half thick marinated in "Red's" secret marinade for 72hrs minimum...
The final presentation... Filet, Edamame beans (Soy) and old fashioned mash... A terrific display on the palet and a wise combination for the senses... Please do go out and get a bottle of the Smoking Loon at your favorite Liquor dispencery and consume in full and share your thoughts... It only works if we ALL give it a try...Enjoy and keep on BLOGGIN...!!!
