A sad story, really...
Our neighbors across the street are being evicted, after living there for over twenty years the owner has decided to sell to a builder so they must go...
Progress I guess. Although, for us it is good news as the McMansion that will surely be built will no doubt raise our property value...
The FIND: The neighbors cleaning out there lot came across an old baseball bat they got from a Dodger game almost 20 years ago...
The PROJECT: restore the bat, save the world!!!
The neigbors gave the bat to Matt and of course he wants to use it, but to use it we have to bring it back from the brink...
So Matt sands...
After sanding away the Dodger blue, he sands again...
The bat had many cracks that had to be filled, so with help from Grace and Dad we fill the cracks. Then sand again...
Of course his bat neeeds a name and a logo and some stain too!!!!
The finished product: A boy and his new bat, a treasure for him and me!
Enjoy A sneek peek of our Christmas card...
Cant forget about Mac n Maggie too!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!!!!!!

Welcome back to the blog, RED!
Very cool project and find. The bat looks great and that big smile on Matthew's face, well as they say "priceless"!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
A great story, as poppa used to say, all kids want is time...
Awww Chris thats your very own Brave Litter Toaster Tale! and it touched my heart that you expressed nothing but compassion for the neighbors that my good man is the absolute tell tale sign that your father lives on through you and now from you to your children you made me smile and I see mom pitching in too, so I say Gracey and Matt have a new bat and some very good parents! Loved the post. Here is my new address for my Christmas Card Helen Barner 2061 NW 81 Ave #619 Pembroke Pines FL 33024. Love Hehe!
